Beth Hart, a Los Angeles native who is a blues-styled vocalist and former street performer. In 1995 she made her public debut in the music industry with Immortal. Her outspoken style and exceptional musicianship drew attention in addition to her expressive live performances and voice that was compared to Janis Joplin. Chuck Taylor, Billboard's October 2nd issue of 1999, said that Hart is "the the epitomize of a natural woman," and that she is "bawdy and funny, and chatty and witty with her selection of spicy languages, free-wheeling and free-wheeling." But that's not much compared to her onstage presence that is where the tall, graceful singer/songwriter walks around and blasts through songs with the intensity that is Mick Jagger .... At times, she's taken her seat at the piano or the center stage, where she sits with no pretense, her legs resting on the sides of a chair, conjuring a voice that is so soft and aching that you're unsure whether she's going to weep or do you think you'll cry. Hart was a young woman who participated in amateur competitions and also experienced the same reactions. But she still had doubts about the music industry when she started the professional path. Eventually, touring the world over was detrimental to her band and Hart dropped out of sight for over four years, a time being a soul-searcher and dealing with issues that came up while writing music. In 1999, Hart returned to her professional career with the critically acclaimed Screamin' for My Supper. The album witnessed Hart's songwriting capabilities develop with vulnerable and honest songs about dealing with life's difficulties.
